Join Mawambul for a cultural learning experience to deepen your understanding of Country, place and Aboriginal perspectives. Over 3 hours, you’ll walk though Country while hearing stories, learning about local history and gaining an understanding of how Aboriginal people have cared for these landscapes for thousands of years.
The day begins at Mount Sugarloaf, a significant cultural site in the Hunter region. Through walking, discussion and shared learning, you’ll gain practical insights into the enduring relationships between people and Country. You'll also get to enjoy Aboriginal-inspired catering.
This small group experience is ideal for businesses, government agencies and groups visiting Sugarloaf State Conservation Area, near Newcastle. Mawambul means ‘together’ in Wiradjuri language. Their experiences are designed to strengthen relationships and connections among the community and build respect for Country.
