Sensing the rainforest

Sensing the rainforest is a Stage 2 (Years 3-4) school excursion in Dorrigo National Park, focusing on HSIE. Students will explore the wonders of Dorrigo rainforest - watching, listening, touching, smelling and searching to discover this special environment. It's a fun program for all ages, adults included.

Through first-hand experiences, learn about the culture of the Awabakal People - how they lived, what resources they used and the significance of the land and Dreamtime stories.

Aboriginal culture is a school excursion for Stage 2 (Years 3-4) HSIE students exploring the beautiful natural and built environments of Ash Island, part of Hunter Wetlands National Park. Through first-hand experiences learn about the culture of the Awabakal People, how they lived, what resources they used and the significance of the land and Dreamtime stories.

In-school Aboriginal program to learn Gumbaynggirr life

This Stage 2 (Years 3-4) in-school Aboriginal program to learn Gumbaynggirr life focuses on HSIE. Aboriginal Discovery rangers from Bongil Bongil National Park and Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve will visit your class to introduce the Gumbaynggirr Aboriginal community through traditional language and stories, including Dreamtime stories, traditional tools and music.
