Closed areas: Bournda National Park fire trails closed for upgrades
The northern section of Bournda National Park will be closed to the public from 10 May - 31 May 2024 due to fire trail upgrades.
The closed trails are:
Games Bay Fire Trail
White Rock Road
Boulder Bay North Fire Trail
Boulder Bay Fire Trail
Th Kangarutha Track will remain open for pedestrian access from Kianinny Bay and Turingal Head.
Obey all closure signs. Penalties apply for non compliance.

Closed areas: Nunnock swamp and Alexanders Hut closed for ground pest control operation
The Tantawangalo section of South East Forests National Park will be closed to the public from 8am on Monday 20th of May until 8am Saturday 1st of June 2024 for a ground pest control operation.
The closed areas include:
- Nunnock campground
- Nunnock grasslands walking tracks
- Alexanders Hut
- Alexanders Hut campground
- Packers Swamp
- Dragon Swamp
This operation will involve ground shooting of deer and feral pigs during day time or night as required. It aims to reduce the significant impact invasive species have on native plants and animals including threatened species. Other pest animals, including foxes and wild dogs may be targeted if observed during the operation.
Park closure warning signs will be placed at entrances to the shooting area. Do not enter the closed area during shooting periods Penalties apply for non-compliance.
The following campgrounds will remain open to the public:
- Six Mile Creek campground
- Postmans campground

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Monday 1 April 2024 to Monday 30 September 2024. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and/or foxes.
The program will take place in:
- Araluen Nature Reserve
- Badja Swamps Nature Reserve
- Beowa National Park
- Berlang State Conservation Area
- Bondi Gulf Nature Reserve
- Bournda National Park
- Bournda Nature Reserve
- Coolumbooka Nature Reserve
- Deua National Park
- Eurobodalla National Park
- Kooraban National Park
- Majors Creek State Conservation Area
- Mimosa Rocks National Park
- Monga National Park and State Conservation Area

The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species.
Signs will be placed at the entry to baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands.
Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Light to Light walk
Light to Light walk is currently closed between Saltwater Creek and Bittangabee Bay until late May 2024 to allow for track upgrades. These closures will impact plans to complete the return-walk. This closure will not affect Saltwater Creek or Bittangabee campgrounds.
If you're booking your walk through a licensed tour operator, you can expect that these operators are being regularly informed by NPWS, so that track closure impacts can be planned for and managed.
Please monitor NPWS alerts for track closures, be prepared to modify your itinerary while track upgrades are being completed and consider transport options to divert around closed sections of the walk.

There has been a reported increase of tick bites at Saltwater Creek campground. Please take appropriate precautions to prevent tick bites such as insect repellent and regular tick checks, and bring tick freeze spray to treat any ticks.
