NPWS will be conducting a 1080 baiting program from Wednesday 11 October 2017 within Barrington Tops National Park and the Curracabundi group of reserves. Closed areas: No vehicle access to Mount Barrington

There is no vehicle access to the final 5km of Barrington trail, beyond the Junction Pools turn, due to safety issues caused by deteriorating trail conditions. Visitors can still access Junction Pools and Little Murray campgrounds. Visitors can also access Mount Barrington on foot or by bicycle. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Other planned events: 1080 wild dog control program

A wld dog trapping and 1080 baiting program is occuring in Myall Lakes and Ghin-doo-ee National Parks. The operations will be from 8 August 2017 until 29 September 2017. The program is part of a wider cooperative program being conducted in conjunction with Local Land Services, Forestry Corp, Mid Coast Council and the Bulahdelah and District Wild Dog Control Group. Domestic pets are not permitted in nature reserves, national parks or state conservation areas. Neighbours and reserve users are reminded that 1080 baits are lethal to domestic pets. We suggest that pets and working dogs be restrained to ensure that they do not enter the baiting location during poisoning operations or to muzzle dogs if they are required to work the baiting location during and after poisoning. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Some areas of this park are closed due to road damage following recent weather conditions . Closed areas are:

  • Mount Royal Road beyond Mt Royal - the road is gated at this point.
  • Cassells Road between Fal Brook Bridge and Keegans track.
