South Yabbra road is closed for road maintenance until further notice. This closure may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Closed areas: Broadwater National Park due to asbestos contamination

All walking tracks and trails in this section of the park are closed. The closure is due to the identification of asbestos contamination at the eastern end of Rileys Hill trail, adjacent to the decomissioned Council landfill site adjacent to Pacific Highway.

Closed areas: Cutters Camp campground and hut shelter closed

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be carrying out major changes to Cutters Camp campground over the coming months. The first stage of the upgrade is now complete:

  • Cutters Camp campground will reopen from Friday 22 December 2017. 
  • Due to the upgrade works, there will be no gas barbecues provided. Minimal wood barbecues will be available in the lower campground and picnic area only. Please bring your own gas cooker or firewood.  
  • Cutters hut shelter will be closed from Thursday 2 November 2017 until further notice. No entry to the hut is permitted while it is closed. 

As upgrade works continue through the coming months, further closures may occur. These will be posted as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience while this important work is being done.

Other planned events: 1080 wild dog baiting program

NPWS are conducting a 1080 wild dog management program.  All baited areas are signposted with the baiting dates and an indication of the baiting method. Dogs are highly susceptible to 1080 poisoning. Dog owners are reminded that dogs are not permitted in national parks at any time. For further information please call the NPWS Grafton area office on (02) 6641 1500.

Closed areas: Tweed Range scenic drive closure update

Tweed Range scenic drive is open from Sheepstation Creek to Bar Mountain. Access to Tweed Range scenic drive is only via Lynches Creek Road from Wiangaree. There is currently no access from the Barkers Vale entrance. All roads, walking tracks and lookouts within the park are open. Closed areas: Mt Clunie Road closed until further notice

Mt Clunie road is closed until further notice due to a collapsed bridge. There is a locked gate and access is restricted.

Closed areas: Peates Mountain Road closed

Peates Mountain Road is closed at Rummery Park campground. There is no vehicle access to Gibbergunyah Range Road via Peates Mountain Road.
