Other planned events: Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve - temporary alcohol ban

A temporary alcohol ban will be in place within Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve on several key dates this summer. Alcohol will not be permitted within the reserve on:

  • Boxing Day (Tuesday 26 December 2017)
  • New Years Eve (Sunday 31 December 2017)
  • New Years Day (Monday 1 January 2018), and
  • Australia Day (Friday 26 January 2018)

The ban is in force all day for each of the days listed. The temporary alcohol ban applies to all parts of Brunswick Heads Nature Reserve, including the north bank of the Brunswick River near Harrys Hill (also known as Christmas Beach), and the Brunswick River picnic area at the mouth of Marshalls Creek (also known as the Oyster Lease).

NPWS officers will be on site to supervise the ban with support from NSW Police. The aim of the temporary alcohol ban is to promote a family friendly experience, while protecting the environment. It's also to avoid the anti-social behaviour that has occurred in previous years on these days. Fines apply for non-compliance. For more information, call NPWS on (02) 6670 8600.
