Fire bans: All Riverina reserves

A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamite) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as:

  • They're under direct control of an adult
  • The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials
  • There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket)

If a Total Fire Ban is in place, please contact the local park office before using a gas and or electric barbecue or cooker.

Safety alerts: Fire trail spraying

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service Mid-West area will be spraying fire trails as part of fire preparedness works. We will sign-post areas being treated while the activity is undertaken. If the weather is suitable, this work will be completed by the end of October 2017. Closed parks: Park closed for aerial pest control operation

This park is closed from 8am Monday 23 October to 5pm Friday 27 October 2017 due to an aerial pest control operation to remove feral goats and pigs. The closure remains unless otherwise extended or removed. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Other planned events: Aerial feral pig control operation

NPWS will be conducting an aerial control program between Friday 27 October and Sunday 5 November 2017. The program is for the management of feral pigs and other vertebrate pest animals within Yanga and Booligal reserves. Some areas may be closed to the public during the control operations. If poor weather occurs, it may not be possible to undertake the control in some reserves.For more information please contact the Yanga National Park area office on (03) 5020 1764.

Other planned events: No access from the eastern side of Cocoparra National Park

Private property adjoins Cocoparra National Park on the eastern side and therefore no public access is permitted via Pleasant Valley Road. No public vehicle access is permitted along the Eastern Boundary fire trail, this is a management trail only.

If you are visiting the park, please enter from the western side, via Barrys Scenic Drive or Mount Bingar Road.
