Other incidents: Traffic delays

Wollumbin National Park, including the Summit track and the Lyrebird track, have reopened as of Monday 29 May 2017. Tweed Council will continue to carry out roadworks on Mount Warning Road for several weeks, so please expect delays when travelling to the park. For any further enquires regarding the roadworks please contact Tweed Shire Council on (02) 6670 2400.

Closed areas: Tweed Range Scenic Drive partially closed

Tweed Range Scenic Drive is now open from Sheepstation Creek to Pinnacle lookout. Brindle Creek Loop Road is open. Sheepstation Creek and Forest Tops campgrounds are now open. The Pinnacle walk and lookout is open.

Tweed Range Scenic Drive remains closed between Pinnacle lookout and the Barkersvale entrance. Access to Tweed Range Scenic Drive is only via Lynches Creek Road from Wiangaree.

Some walking tracks will remain closed. Affected areas are:

  • Booyong walking track
  • Brindle Creek walking track
  • Bar Mount walking tracks and lookouts
  • Blackbutts lookout

Other incidents: Black Rocks campground - aircraft noise

Attention for campers at Black Rocks regarding periodic aircraft noise over the campground. The Department of Defence has a training area within Bundjalung National Park north of Black Rocks campground. Aircraft may fly over the campground from time to time. Peates Mountain Road is closed at Rummery Park campground. There is no vehicle access to Gibbergunyah Range Road via Peates Mountain Road. Closed areas: Black Rocks campground - No 4WD Beach access

Partial closure. No 4WD beach access from Black Rocks campground. Due to significant storm damage, the 4WD beach access at Black Rocks campground is closed. Vehicles may still drive along Ten Mile Beach north from the Shark Bay 4WD beach access, but cannot exit at Black Rocks.There are no other beach access points on Ten Mile Beach other than Shark Bay 4WD beach access. No 4WD access north of Black Rocks campground.
