Mount Mackenzie Nature Reserve

Overview

Mount Mackenzie Nature Reserve was created in December 1999. It covers an area of 141ha. For detailed park and fire management documents, visit the OEH website.

Highlights: This nature reserve was set aside for the conservation of its tall open forest ecosystem, which contains a number of rare and endangered plant species.

Activities: You'll find a lookout and barbecue area, with a gas barbecue, at the end of the Mount Mackenzie Lookout Road.

Access: The reserve is approximately 5km south-west of Tenterfield, on the Mount Mackenzie Road.
