Benambra National Park

Overview

Benambra National Park was created in January 2001. It covers an area of 1399ha. View the detailed park and fire management documents.

This 1400-hectare park contains some of the state's best examples of red and white box eucalypt woodland - a vegetation community that is very poorly protected within existing conservation reserves. It contains important habitat for rare and vulnerable species such as the turquoise and swift parrots and the squirrel glider.

20 kilometres southwest of Holbrook.

There is no public vehicle access to this reserve. Nature reserves are established for the purposes of conservation, research  and environmental education, so access to this reserve is confined to bushwalking.
