Other non-Blue Mountains National Park campgrounds are available in the upper Blue Mountains Area. These include Blackheath Glen and Old Ford Reserve in the Megalong Valley, and Mount York at Mount Victoria. These campgrounds are managed by Blue Mountains City Council. Camping in them is on a first in, first served basis and no bookings are required.

Closed areas: Ingar campground
Ingar campground and Ingar Road will be closed to vehicle access from 12pm Saturday 5 August 2017 due to private property building works. The closure is indefinite as it relates to access through the private property. No opening date can be advised. NPWS apologises for any inconvenience caused. Ingar Road and Ingar campground may still be accessed by walkers and cyclists. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Closed areas: Prince Henry Cliff walking track - between Leura Cascades and Solitary restaurant
Prince Henry Cliff walking track is closed between Leura Cascades and Solitary restaurant until further notice. This closure is due to a landslide that has completely blocked the track. An alternative track is available via Leura Cascades walking track. Visitors can still walk from Leura Cascades to Solitary restaurant on Cliff Drive via this longer track.

McMahons Lookout Road is closed from the Blue Mountains National Park entry gate and will likely reopen on Thursday 29 March 2018.This closure may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible.

Closed areas: Claustral canyon access change
Access to Claustral canyon via the previous route across private land at Mount Tomah is no longer possible due to landholders denying access. Canyoners should respect the rights of Mount Tomah residents and avoid using private land. Alternative access from the west side of Mount Bell has been identified.
