Seabird habitation restoration project

Volunteer at Montague Island Nature Reserve to help NSW National Parks restore numbers of vulnerable and protected species of nesting seabirds that use the island as a seasonal breeding site. Take part in activities such as weed control, surveying and monitoring while enjoying the scenic ocean views.

Free. Free park entry.

Shorebird recovery program: Tuross Head

Volunteers are needed to help recover threatened species of shorebirds around Tuross Head on the NSW Far South Coast. You’re invited to join NSW National Parks in this important volunteering work to monitor and survey breeding birds, restore habitat and educate beachgoers on the birds’ breeding sites.

Free. Free park entry.

Throughout spring and summer. Hours are flexible, but early morning and dusk are the best times to see nesting birds.
