Join this fantastic guided 3.5km walk at Muogamarra Nature Reserve, near Cowan. Discover an extraordinary place, and enjoy panoramic views of the Hawkesbury River and surrounds.

Muogamarra Nature Reserve
Medium. Suitable for adults and children 6 years and over.

Adult $30 per person. Child $20 per person. Family $80 for 2 adults and 2 children. Park access fee included in price.

Information Centre at Muogamarra Nature Reserve, meet at 10.15am.

We'll begin at the Information Centre, walk to JD Tipper lookout and down to Peats Ferry Road. Then we'll climb up to Lloyd Trig, 210m above sea level.

Keep an eye out for banksias, pink boronias and delicate native orchids scattered among the tracks. You'll be treated to unforgettable views over the Hawkesbury River and of national parks to the north, east and west. You'll also see other iconic landmarks in the distance, such as Barrenjoey Lighthouse

Muogamarra Nature Reserve is open for just 6 weekends a year to preserve its fragile ecosystems and Aboriginal heritage. Guided walks give participants a unique opportunity to explore the area with an experienced and passionate volunteer guide.

Wear enclosed sturdy walking shoes and bring weather protection and insect repellent. It's a good idea to also bring 2 litres of drinking water and all food and snacks.

Park info

  • in Muogamarra Nature Reserve in the Sydney and surrounds region
  • Muogamarra Nature Reserve is open to the public from 9am to 4.30pm for 6 weekends every year. The reserve will open on 12 August in 2017. The reserve is closed to the public at other times to protect the sensitive natural and cultural heritage.

    • A park access fee applies during the 6 annual open weekends: $15 adults, $10 children, $40 family (2 adults, 2 children).
    • Annual passes are not valid for entry to Muogamarra Nature Reserve.
