Opening times

Open 7 days a week.

In its heyday, Hill End had enough thirsty residents to service a whopping 28 pubs. Now, the Royal Hotel is the only remaining public house in town, offering drinks and dining in it's licensed bar, or the family-friendly dining room or outdoor garden bistro.

Shoot some pool, check out the memorabilia from days of old, relax by the wood fire in winter, or refuel before discovering the heritage attractions and gold mining relics on a self-guided or guided tour.

Built in 1872, this two-storey, privately-run business has seen extensive restoration works, but the charm of the gold rush era remains.
